We're an independent review team dedicated to helping Americans make informed decisions about cash advances. Here's who we are, how we research, and how we make money.
FrontPayApp.com is an independent review and comparison website dedicated to researching cash advance services, particularly FrontPay and its competitors. We are not affiliated with FrontPay Holdings, LLC or any of the alternative services we review.
Our team consists of financial writers and researchers who have spent years covering personal finance, consumer lending, and fintech products. We combine primary research with user reports from Reddit, app stores, and other review platforms to provide honest, comprehensive assessments.
We analyze company registrations, public filings, BBB status, Trustpilot reviews, and regulatory compliance for every service we cover.
We compile and analyze user experiences from Reddit, app stores, and review sites to understand real-world performance.
We calculate effective APRs and total costs so you can compare apples-to-apples, not just headline rates.
We update our reviews at least quarterly to reflect fee changes, new features, and updated user feedback.
Have a question, correction, or experience to share about FrontPay? We'd love to hear from you. Your input helps us keep our reviews accurate and helpful.
Every cash advance service we review goes through a six-step evaluation process designed to surface what really matters to borrowers — not what the company wants you to see in their marketing. We've reviewed over 30 services in the past two years using this same framework.
We calculate the true cost of borrowing, including monthly subscriptions, express transfer fees, and the effective APR most users will actually pay. Marketing copy is ignored — only the numbers from the fine print count.
Where possible, we sign up as a regular user, link a test bank account, and document the actual experience from application to repayment. Screenshots are saved as evidence.
We check Trustpilot, BBB, Reddit, Apple App Store, Google Play, and SiteJabber. We weight verified reviews higher and flag patterns of suspicious 5-star reviews or coordinated complaints.
We search the CFPB consumer complaint database, state Attorney General records, and check whether the company holds required licenses in the states they operate in.
Companies that hide fees, make it hard to cancel, or use dark patterns to upsell get marked down severely. Transparency is a major factor in our ratings.
Each service gets a final score on a 10-point scale across five categories: Cost, Accessibility, Transparency, Customer Support, and Trust. The composite ranking determines our recommendation order.
We earn revenue through affiliate commissions when readers sign up for some of the services we review. This is disclosed at the top and bottom of every review page. However, affiliate compensation does not influence our ratings, rankings, or recommendations in any way.
To protect editorial independence, we follow these strict rules: we never accept paid placements or "sponsored" reviews; we are not paid to mention specific products favorably; companies cannot pay to remove negative content; and our writers do not own shares in any service we review.
If we ever recommend FrontPay specifically, it would be only after they earn it through pricing changes, transparency improvements, and verified positive user outcomes. As of our latest review, that has not happened.
